I would suggest 2 mail.boxes wouldn't solve your problem. I would check for other reasons for mail.box corrupting every couple of weeks. There are suggestions here and also in the Lotus Support database on possible causes.

However if you want to try it, your spec sounds fine. I have run it on much less.
